  • Expert in experimental thermo-fluidic systems

Research Interests

Electronics Cooling; Semiconductor Packaging; In-space technology development; Droplet microfluidics; Disease Transmisson

I am developing next-generation thermal management technologies that enable efficient heat dissipation from power-hungry electronic sources while reducing operational energy usage and carbon footprint. I use fundamental concepts of fluid mechanics and heat transfer across scales and mediums, leveraging cutting-edge experimental and numerical tools to develop cooling solutions for data centers, power electronics, electric vehicles, and batteries.

During my Ph.D., I investigated the conjugate effect of substrate wettability and external potential fields (electric field, magnetic field, and gravity) on liquid drops, leading to its contact-line instability, shape evolution, and fragmentation (see research and publications page). The Ph.D. work was adjudged as Best Ph.D. Thesis in Mechanical Engineering in the 2020-2021 graduating batch of IIT Guwahati. I have a brief experience (2 years) of working in research and development of diesel-engine fuel system components at the Maruti Suzuki India Limited after my B. Tech degree in 2013.

Apart from research, I take an interest in deep-space exploration, science communication, and outreach and social activities (More details in the outreach section). I also enjoy hiking, running, going to beaches, and movies!
